In the early days at KCA, our community was very tight-knit.  Everyone knew everyone else – from 1st grade through 12th grades.  So, it seemed a bit silly at after-school P.E. class on the “first day of school” to sit in a circle and introduce ourselves.  Things were to get sillier, however.  Amazingly, there were actually TWO “Graces” in my class – maybe because we had the largest class (yeah!  1975!).

Back to the circle… Each girl recited her name, getting around to Ellen Kingsbury.  It just so happened I was sitting next to Ellen, and must have been in a dream world (nothing new) since I blurted out my name as “Grace Kingsbury.”  Of course, everyone knew I was “Grace Weimar” but it came out so naturally – our first exercise in P.E. was rolling on the lawn with laughter and splitting sides.  Perhaps you had to be there, but really, it was funny!
